About Me

The Story Behind the Story

I have been writing books for the past 8 years and counting. I enjoy bringing great joy into my readers lives. Hearing how they have been moved by them has given me new encouragement to continue on this great work. I pour my heart and soul into these great books and look forward to bringing new twists to old stories, while developing new stories along the way. Thank you for supporting me, and I hope you enjoy every page I write.

About 9 years ago, my wife, who is a writer herself, asked me to write some stories about my cats as and how they interact in their owner's world. I hesitantly wrote them thinking it was a waste of time, and after I compiled them into my first book "The Caticles" I was hooked and been doing this ever since.

When I continued to write I felt as if I was needing to give something more to the human character, Gracie, that I placed into the Caticles and her world has been growing ever since. As I published "The Unbreakable Will" in 2015 I felt as if other characters needed more time to develop their stories too. This is when I set out on writing Helen's and Vicky's stories, but they never made it more than limited publication.

I put down my pen for many years since I felt burnt out and lost the passion for it. Although a strong story, I felt as if several things were missing such as a central theme to connect them. Then last year I made a breakthrough and started to write a revised version of The Unbreakable Will. Due to my increased knowledge of writing and resources, I am very proud if this work.

The great thing is these new upgrades will allow me to go back and write the rest of Gracie's story. It will not be all pretty as there will be some peril, but I am confident in the end many will be satisfied and left wanting more.

Who I am

I am a middle-aged man, and I am married to my wife Hayley. I have a fur family that consists of two dogs and three cats, and I live in North Salt Lake, Utah. If you want to count the four snakes, I guess you could say I am living in a pet shop. I grew up owning at least one cat since I was a thirteen-year-old boy. So, I am an avid animal lover.

Throughout my life my only regret to pets is that they live such short lives. Part of my passion for writing is so they can earn a portion of immortality. Sadly, some of these pets have passed away over the years and it has been a greater influence on me to continue to write.by putting many of them as characters in my stories, giving them a way so their influence will last forever.

I am also an active swimmer, basketball player and photographer who has a background in Graphic Design. I am grateful for my station in life where I can write as I please and having the opportunity to do this gives me great joy!

Why do I Write?

During my life I have faced challenges that allowed me to see the world differently. I don't look it as material but rather in a spiritual light.  I have always felt that we have spirits of our own but also things such as water, earth, and air have spirits shaping life on this earth.  I feel strongly that everything has a purpose, and we are but characters in a much bigger story.

I write with this in mind and though I do not claim to write religious doctrine just fictional stories, I do believe that God works through these spiritual ways. The characters I have created interact much in this same way. I feel a feeling great passion and joy as I develop these stories. It gives dimension to my life in ways nothing else does.

Our Real Life Pets

Here are the pictures of our pets which inspired these wonderful stories. Starting from the top left to the bottom right: *Piglet, *Air, *Trixy, Milo, *Truffles, Izzy, *Cro-dh-lis, Tigger, Raven, and Cleo

Piglet was our dog and friend for many years. She was a great friend, until old age caught up with her. She appears in The Caticles, The Unbreakable Will, and Crossing the Bridge to Eternity. Air was also our beloved companion too. He appears in The Caticles, The Unbreakable Will and The Spirit which Moves with the Water. Trixy was a great cat. Though she is no longer with us, she appears in The Caticles and The Unbreakable Will. Milo still causes problems and appears in The Catilces, and The Unbreakable Will. Truffles was with us only for a short time and appears in The Caticles and The Unbreakable Will. Izzy is our cat who plays the mother role. She appears in The Caticles, and The Unbreakable Will. Cro-dh-lis was only with us a short time and appears briefly in The Caticles. The other cats did not accept her very well. Tigger is our current dog along with Raven who both make appearances in Crossing the Bridge to Eternity. Finally, Cleo still chases imaginary butterflies and makes appearances in both The Caticles, and The Unbreakable Will
